GOREFEST Frontman Breaks Foot, Refuses To Cancel Shows
April 25, 2005Guitarist Frank Harthoorn of the reunited Dutch metallers GOREFEST has posted the following message on the band's official web site:
"Thank you, everybody who attended our try-out gig in the fair city of Goes, you all made it a night we'll remember for a long time! JC [Jan Chris de Koeijer, bass/vocals] certainly will, since he did the show on a broken foot! Yes, the blond one, in a frustrated fit of rage over some severe backpains he was having a couple of days ago, unknowingly broke his foot when he slammed it into a wall. Nice going, dude! This doesn't mean we're pulling out of the next couple of shows, of course. Being the trooper he is, JC will be on stage sporting a walking cast. Just don't expect him to pull any David Lee Rothian antics, OK?
"Anyway, it truly was an awesome night. Heads were banging, the metal was flowing, and much beer was being drunk. Girls were creaming their panties, and grown men were weeping. Well, maybe not, but I think I can safely say that a fun time was had by all. And we're just starting!"
As previously reported, GOREFEST recently inked a multi-album deal with Nuclear Blast Records. The band are currently writing songs for what will reportedly be "a very heavy new album." A late 2005 release is expected.
GOREFEST released several CDs through the Nuclear Blast label in the early 1990s before switching to SPV for their last album, 1998's "Chapter 13".
